Icarus – Community Cast Call Out

Icarus

South Tyneside Council has commissioned us, thanks to an Arts Council England grant, to create a unique version of our brand new outdoor touring show, Icarus. This very special performance of Icarus will take place in Bents Park after the parade on Saturday 30th June, and we are looking for about 60 people with a willingness to join in and enjoy themselves!

Icarus is a dance theatre interpretation of the Greek myth which explores a universal human story: the tension between our ambition and our capability; between our hopes and dreams and our (perceived) reality. Using daring physicality, leaps, lifting, and the distinctive choreography Southpaw has become known for, we will see Icarus’s obsession with the skies and his quest to achieve flight, always raising the stakes, always looking upwards.

And now you can be involved! Check out what people say who have previously been part of our community casts.

Kick off meeting and rehearsal schedule is being confirmed for June.
